A Splendid Quiet Practice Amplifier, November 16, 2009
I own several guitar amplifiers. The good ones are musical instruments in their own rights. They extend and reinforce the subtle dynamics of my playing style and the tonal characteristics of my guitars. My new little Rogue 10-watt combo, the least expensive (by far) and smallest of the lot, is one of the good ones.
When I play finger style with single-coil pickups and the Rogue set "clean" at low volume levels, the bell-like overtones it reproduces are satisfying. When I use a pick and hum-bucking pickups with the Rogue set "dirty" at low volume levels, it growls appropriately. There's a pattern here: low volume levels. Although this little guy is well-constructed relative to its price point, it is not road-hardened. It's also not very loud.
This begs a question: if one is not a beginner on a shoestring budget, what's the point of such a tiny, quiet amplifier? For me, there is great value in having a quiet musical tool I can use in the dark of the night when the rest of my household is asleep or when my ears hurt in spite of the Hearos earplugs I wear religiously. As such, I'd consider the Rogue a good buy at several times its current price. As it is actually priced, the little Rogue is one of the most incredible bargains in the music world.

Perfect for my uses, January 6, 2010
I purchased this amp along with, a stratocaster, and a few other accessories, as a beginner guitar.
When I got the amp (which was earlier than I expected. . .) I looked perfect. The amp, though small is beautiful It has solid silver nobs, and the sounds quality is great, While i waited on my guitar to deliver, I hooked it to my computer and used it my home studio music productions.

Good tuner... portable, accurate, easy to use, January 26, 2008
First let me say right off that I'm a beginning guitar player. Everything I've heard and read said that I absolutely needed to learn by playing in tune. So after doing quite a bit of homework (I'm a bit over the top about researching things I buy), I settled on this unit. Now that I've been using it for a couple of months, I can say without hesitation that it was a good purchase. To tune the guitar, you simply pick each string (EADGBE - Eddie Ate Dynamite Good-Bye Eddie) and watch the gauge. Tighten or loosen the stings until the needle lines up perfectly and the green "all's well" light comes on. Very easy to use and small enough to toss in a pocket. Definitely recommended.

Dunlop Tortex = crisp, February 15, 2007
I've been playing guitar for 22 years now. For at least 20 of those years, I've been using Tortex picks, and I will never stop using them as long as I live.
I tried all of the thicknesses over the course of a few months. When I started, I was playing Ramones style punk; strumming barre chords all day like they were going out of style. It seemed to make sense at the time to use the thinner picks, the .5mm or .6mm. (I think these were the red and the orange ones...) They were totally flexible. The red one barely registered at all, it might as well have been a little piece of tissue paper. But at the time it made sense to my dumbass 16 year old neophyte self.
A little later, I discovered the joys of speed metal. I began picking and peddaling on individual strings rather than just strumming chords. This was when I started experimenting with the thicker picks. .88mm, 1.0, 1.14. These would be the green, purple, and blue ones. Eventually I settled on the green .88mm and I've been using them ever since. I can't even imagine using a different pick anymore.
The reason that I fell in love with these picks is that their edges aren't rounded like standard "Fender" style plastic or tortoise shell picks. The edge of a Tortex is cut at right angles, they have corners. When you pedal on a wound string, you get an amazingly crisp and sharp scraping timbre that just can't be achieved with standard rounded off picks. The catch is that of course the cornered edge wears down rather quickly as you play. You will only get this awesome sound for a few minutes. A professional performer would want to switch to a fresh pick at the beginning of each song. A bedroom virtuoso will get more use out of them.

My new Favorites, May 9, 2009
Like other beginner guitarist, I thought a thinner pick meant better speed and playing. WRONG.
I ordered these based on the majority of five star reviews and was not disappointed at all. I love them. My speed has gone up and the guitar just sounds better.
Unlike others I didn't have a problem with the shipping. All the picks arrived in the original package though the box was still unnecessarily large. Concerning the ink bleeding problem other reviewers had, I haven't noticed anything like it. The ink just slowly fades over time thought I will admit I never put them in my mouth so I'm not sure how that factors... Just don't eat them.
Also they are durable as heck. Used the same pick for a month and the only difference is it loses the slightly powdered green it comes in and turns a shade darker. Overall very happy with them and would recommend the picks to anyone and everyone.

Christmas couldn't get any funnier than this!, December 22, 2009
By Eric S. Kim (Southern California)

This review is from: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition) (DVD)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation . . . what can I say? It's a comedy classic! It's yet another film that you can enjoy during the holiday season. It's also the best National Lampoon motion picture that features the Griswolds. It has a cleverly written script, interesting characters, and the true definition of family gatherings (well, maybe not ENTIRELY true, but true nonetheless). But I think the best part of this film is the humor. There are so many sight gags and witty dialogue that anyone can remember off the top of their heads. The most memorable scenes include bringing the humongous Christmas tree into the house, the dry turkey, the squirrel, the awkward talk with a female salesperson, and of course, "s****er was full!". While it may not be one of my all-time favorite films, it's still one of the greatest Christmas films of all time. You can watch it along with It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Home Alone, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Scrooge, Scrooged, A Garfield Christmas, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.
